Interest Mortgage was in the midst of breaking away from their parent company, Movement Mortgage, and they wanted to make a splash internally with their rebrand. The goal was to create trendy, modern apparel that employees would be excited to wear—something fun and stylish to build culture within their team.
PROCESS:
THE JOURNEY
To kick things off, I came up with a creative twist: an exercise where employees could submit design ideas for what they’d actually want to wear. Their submissions were amazing—not just in creativity but in revealing what resonated most with their team. I took all those ideas, analyzed patterns, and built a design brief based on what the majority seemed to love. From there, it was all about collaboration. We explored multiple variations together (with plenty of legal input to keep the parody designs trademark-friendly), tweaking and refining until we hit on the perfect mix.
OUTCOME
THE BUILD
We started with a simple plan for two designs, but after diving into the project, I couldn’t resist giving them more to choose from—20, to be exact. They loved the options so much that they ended up selecting five final designs. The project didn’t just result in awesome shirts; it built excitement and reinforced their brand identity.

REFLECTIONS
This experience reminded me how valuable it is to lean into a company’s personality and culture. By engaging their team in the process, we didn’t just make designs—they created a buzz that carried into the workplace. And going above and beyond with deliverables? Totally worth it.
